Valentine’s Day Gift Wrapping Idea: Put Your Heart In It

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! Whether you have a special gift prepared or are sticking with the tried and true box of chocolates, we have a little something to show you that will give your gift a personal touch. This wrapping style gives you a little pocket to insert a heart-shaped card. What better way is there to express your appreciation to a loved one?

1. Cardstock
2. Wrapping paper (width: about 3-4 inches longer than your present; length: enough to wrap around the box once plus 2-3 inches)
3. A square box (for your present)

Turn the wrapping paper lengthwise. Fold the wrapping paper from the bottom up 2-3 inches.

Turn the paper over and fold the bottom in to make two triangles that meet.

Turn the wrapping paper back over and you’ll see that you’ve made a pocket. Wrap the box with the pocket on top.

Fold your cardstock in half and place it on the box. Draw a half heart using the pocket as a guideline. Cut out the heart and now it’s a heart-shaped card!

Write your card and stick it in the pocket!

Isn’t that nifty? It’s a great way to store your card, so you’re not fumbling for it when you present your gift.

We have more Valentine’s Day ideas coming up the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned for those!

Pilot FriXion Colors Erasable Marker - Pink

Pilot FriXion Colors Erasable Marker – Pink

What’s Valentine’s Day without a little pink ink? We love this marker because it’s easy to write with and produces beautiful color. Did we mention that it is erasable?

We chose this pen to trace the outline of the half heart shape, precisely because it was erasable. If we weren’t happy with the shape of our heart, we could always redo it without skipping a beat!
